I didn't come to music through business. I came to it through family.

I grew up surrounded by it. My dad was a musician. So were my uncles, some of them genuinely incredible. My siblings tried to make a go of it. My cousins too. Music wasn't a hobby in my family; it was the air we breathed. Somebody was always playing, always writing, always chasing it.

And I watched nearly all of them run into the same wall: an industry built so that only a few ever make it, and everyone else carries the cost of chasing it. My dad gave it everything: his time, his money, his dreams. Like so many artists, he deserved more than the system was ever going to give him.

But here's what I remember most about my dad: the way he played for his fans. He had a gift for it, reading a room, giving people something real, sending them home feeling like they'd been part of something. That closeness, that bond between an artist and the people who show up for them, that was the whole point. That was the magic.

And somewhere along the way, the industry priced that magic out. Fans got pushed further and further from the artists they love. Artists got treated like numbers. The connection that made music matter got lost.

That wall hasn't moved. If anything, it's higher now. The people I love still live it, pouring their hearts into music while working side gigs just to keep the dream breathing. And fans keep paying more to feel less.

I write and produce music myself, and I've seen it firsthand: an industry that rewards the few, exploits the many, and puts distance between artists and the fans who love them. MyGarageFans is my answer to that. It comes from generations of my family loving this thing and getting so little back, and from a belief that artists deserve a fair shot, and fans deserve to feel close to the music again.

I'm building this for my family: for my dad, my uncles, my siblings, my cousins, and for every artist still waiting for a fair shot, and every fan who just wants to be part of the music they love.

I'm a classically trained pianist. I started singing as soon as I had words, and I started playing music around the same time I was learning my ABCs and 123s. Music is in my DNA.

It runs down both sides of my family. From my mom's side, a love of classical art: architecture, painting, and especially music. I grew up on Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Beethoven. From my dad's side came the rock, the folk, the ballads. Music was everywhere, and I wanted to do something with it.

Then came the moment we all face: choosing a path. In high school, my classmates and I, all of us at music school, kept debating whether to pursue music in college. One day our principal came to the classroom, and we asked him directly: “Should we do music as a career?”

His answer felt like a cut. He said, “As a musician, you're going to be poor, but happy. If you're okay with that, go for music.”

I was already a broke student. I couldn't afford to stay broke. So I chose a different path.

But music never left my heart, and I don't think I'm alone in that. I believe there are far more people than we realize carrying a love for music they were told they couldn't afford to follow. Given the chance to actually live from it, so many of them would take that path in a heartbeat.

I want MyGarageFans to be that bridge, so more people can chase their passion for this beautiful art, without being told they have to choose between the thing they love and a life they can live.
